moments, enjoying them

yesterday i enjoyed a moment of peace, satisfaction, pride. i called my peace corps placement officer and accepted my assignment. then, i sat back in my chair, sipped my coffee, smiled, acknowledged my achievement, and felt entirely at ease with who i was. who i am.


last night i enjoyed a moment of affirmation. not from myself (i know, i know, be careful...), but from the person who knows me best. the boy. he has said (often and recently), "i think youre a world saver." i agree with his appraisal; that is indeed part of who i am. and last night, while we talked over gin and loud music, he said he was proud of me. that, in watching me essentially become me, it felt like his turn to do something. i agree with his appraisal.
